Beka INJIASecretary General, Georgian International Arbitration Centre
Beka Injia currently holds the position of the Secretary General of the Georgian International Arbitration Centre. In parallel he is the heading the legal issues in the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Injia has previously worked both in public and in private sector. His professional experience includes positions at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, where he was advisor in a division of State Representation in Arbitration and foreign Courts. He also worked in ministry of Finances. For number of year he was the General legal counsel of one of the largest Real Estate Development Company in Georgia. He has served as arbitrator in a several domestic construction disputes.
Mr. Injia has been the member of various working groups and committees created with the aim of reforming the existing Georgian Legislation. In particular, he was the member of the working committee created by the Ministry of Justice that prepared the draft of the amendments to the Arbitration Law of Georgia. Mr. Injia was one of the person’s behind the idea of the formation of an international arbitration institution in Georgia. He was leading the working group on Formation of International Arbitration Institution at the Georgian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He was the member of the International Commission for Final Revision of the GIAC Arbitration Rules.
He is also member of Georgian Bar Association, Georgian Arbitrators Association, advisory member at Young ICCA and associate member of Georgian Law firms Association.
