James MENZFormer Deputy Secretary General, German Arbitration Institute (DIS)
James Menz is Deputy Secretary General and Head of Case Management at the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) in Cologne/Berlin. He was a member of the English drafting committee for the revised 2018 DIS Arbitration Rules.
Prior to joining the DIS, James practiced international arbitration, litigation, and competition law at leading firms in Zurich and New York. He regularly publishes and speaks on issues in international commercial arbitration. James is a Vice-Chair of the ABA SIL’s International Arbitration Committee and a member of major professional associations. He ranks in Who’s Who Legal Future Leaders Arbitration 2017 and 2018.
