Eastern European Dispute Resolution Forum: Prove it if you can!

Eastern European Dispute Resolution Forum (EEDRF) is the first and the largest practical Forum, held in Belarus, which unites different jurisdictions.

On September 22, 2017 for a second time Minsk is waiting to meet lawyers, major league players, including representatives of international law firms, corporate lawyers, heads of Belarusian and state companies, experts in the field of litigation and arbitration from the Baltic countries, CIS, Europe and the United States , law students, members of the academic community and the public sector.

The aim of the Forum is to discuss the most relevant trends and practices in the sphere of dispute resolution in the CIS and Eastern Europe.

The topic of EEDRF-2017: Prove it if you can! Taking of evidence in international commercial arbitration and state courts. One of the issues that will be discussed at the Forum – whether the alternative is necessary for IBA Rules on taking of evidence.

This year we are expecting representatives of major European arbitral centers : Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Secretary General of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre, representatives of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce.

The Keynote speaker of the Forum - Lord (Peter) Goldsmith QC, PC . London Co-Managing Partner and Chair of European and Asian Litigation, joined Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in September 2007. Lord Goldsmith served as the UK’s Attorney General from 2001-2007, prior to which he was in private practice as one of the leading barristers in London

The Forum is supported by the leading law firms of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Baltic states, Poland and other countries as well as Arbitration Association (Moscow, Russia), Ukrainian Arbitration Association and International Law and Arbitration Association (BILA) . The organizing partner of the Forum is SBH Law office.

The debut in 2016 showed a huge success of the event, which has already established itself as an excellent platform for communication of practitioners specializing in dispute resolution.

Official languages of the Forum are Russian and English . During the plenary session and throughout all sections simultaneous translation will be provided.

There is free seating for delegates in the halls and Wi-Fi-covering over the whole territory of the Forum.

Within the framework of the Forum two topical sessions will be held, where 10-12 speakers (for each session) - highly qualified foreign and Belarusian specalists – will participate.

Under the Forum accreditation participants will be able to take part in the satellite events on September 21: discussion of Prague Rules as an alternative to IBA Rules on the Taking Evidence in International Commercial Arbitration and SCC Seminar.


Participants of the Forum will be able to attend an evening event - Cocktail Dinner, organized for informal communication and networking.


Participants of the Forum and their family members will get an opportunity to take part in additional cultural program and enjoy the atmosphere of the country.
